What better way to experience our most colorful season than by hiking, or walking, through our fan-favorite trails. Grab your camera, bring a friend, and choose the path that’s best for you.
Welch-Dickey Trailhead – 02 Minute Drive
This hike is practically in our backyard and offers easy access to beautiful views.
Quincy Bog – 20 Minute Drive
This trail is only 1 mile long, perfect for those who want a more leisurely stroll and a whole lot of nature.
Artist’s Bluff – 25 Minute Drive
We aren’t bluffing when we say this 1.5-mile hike offers some of the best views of Cannon Mountain and Franconia Notch.
Rattlesnake Mountain – 25 Minute Drive
This is a fan favorite voted by locals and tourists seeking a workout with a view. Enjoy a quick drive from the resort before starting the 2.3-mile trail.
Lonesome Lake Trail – 30 Minute Drive
Are you up for a challenge? This trail gets a little steep and rocky, but it’s worth the scenic views of Lonesome Lake and the beautiful mountain range.
Five Finger Point Trail – 40 Minute Drive
This may be the furthest trail from our resort, but it’s worth the trip. Enjoy lovely lake views from this family and dog-friendly loop.
Fall Fun Activities
These classic fall activities are best explored in New Hampshire. We hate to brag, but our locals are the experts when it comes to outdoor fun in the wilderness.
It’s Apple Season at Windy Ridge. Pick your own or visit their Cider House Café for a delicious breakfast or lunch.
People travel from all over for a taste of their classic New England cider donuts. They’re open seven days/week so there’s no excuse not to go.
We bet you’ve never buzzed through the winding roads of the Kancamagus Highway before. Even if you have, it’s worth doing again and again. It’s New England’s most superb scenic route, especially during peak fall foliage. It intersects many popular areas of New Hampshire, so no matter where your travels take you, you’ll be able to incorporate a portion of the highway into your route.
New Hampshire is unique in so many ways – one being our covered bridges. With 66 must see bridges, you’ll be sure to capture that perfect Instagram-worthy photo.
Nothing is more satisfying than feeling the wind in your hair as you breeze through our many recreational bike trails.
Cog Railway and other scenic train rides
Sit back and enjoy the ride on a scenic train ride up Mount Washington. It’s the perfect way to tour our beautiful White Mountains.

Lake Activities
Lake life in granite state is incredible. We’re proud to be surrounded by some of the cleanest, most scenic lakes in the country, nestled within the White Mountains. The summer temps may be departing but you can still enjoy the beautiful views and everchanging foliage. Just be sure to bring an extra layer!
Rent a Boat
Getting on the water is easy. Three of the most popular lakes – Squam Lake, Lake Winnipesaukee, and Newfound Lake – offer affordable, all day boat rentals. Perfect for your friends and family to enjoy with a cooler full of food and drinks.
If you’re interested in sightseeing on the water but don’t feel comfortable driving a boat yourself, get aboard the Squam Lake boat tours instead. Perfect for small groups.
Fresh Water Fishing
