It is official – Owl’s Nest is excited to announce its plans to go solar, with the project on the Lafayette Lodge planned to be complete by Spring 2024. If you are not familiar with solar panels, there are tons of benefits to installing them onto properties, both for the environment as well as people! Some benefits to going solar include contributing to a more sustainable energy future, reducing your overall carbon footprint, lowering operating costs, and supporting local communities.
To complete this project, Owl’s Nest will be partnering with the 100% employee-owned and New England-based energy company, ReVision Energy to install over 160 solar panels on the Lafayette Lodge, generating 70,470 kWh of energy. From a sustainability standpoint, 70,450 kWh of energy is equivalent to keeping 69,131 pounds of carbon out of the atmosphere every year, lighting a home with LED bulbs for 97 years, brewing 7,758,400 cups of coffee every year, or baking 37,584 pies every year!
ReVision Energy specializes in residential and commercial solar energy, and prides themselves on offering sustainable energy solutions, with a mission to make life better by building a just and equitable electric future. With over 400 employee co-owners, 15,000 installations, and 20 years of experience, ReVision is New England’s leading full-service renewable energy contracting company. They have done tons of great work on homes, businesses, and institutions in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, all of which have favorable solar energy resources.
