Owl’s Nest Resort, like many other businesses, has had to make changes to the way we operate due to the Coronavirus. New sanitation rules and schedules, less capacity in our restaurant, state-wide mask mandate, and increased takeout orders.
Because of all these changes, we’ve been able to reflect and adapt to new ideas to better serve our community during this time.
So, herein lies our next venture as a resort: “El Nido del Barrio,” meaning “the neighborhood nest.” Executive Chef, Chef Juan Olivares says, “Owl’s Nest is like a neighborhood to me, so it made sense to name it that.’” We want everyone that comes to Owl’s Nest Resort to immediately feel like they are part of a community that’s welcoming, helpful and fun.
We hope the addition of this restaurant will continue that. The restaurant will be a takeout-only ghost kitchen, meaning the food is prepared in a pre-existing commercial kitchen and given to customers via delivery or takeout. Ghost Kitchens get rid of the traditional dining experience by removing dining areas and fancy décor.
The Food
The cuisine of El Nido del Barrio is traditional Mexican, prepared by our incredible Executive Chef, Chef Juan Olivares. The dishes will be filled with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of flavor that Chef Juan grew up eating. Mexican cuisine is rooted in family and togetherness, something we believe our community desperately needs right now. Therefore, our purpose behind this restaurant is to provide our community with a safe and nutritious food option during this pandemic. The dishes served at El Nido del Barrio should be shared with family, friends, and loved ones. Chef Juan’s favorite dish on the menu is the Boneless Spare Rib, because it’s the only meal which he genuinely enjoyed eating with vegetables. You may view the menu here on our website.
How It Works
El Nido del Barrio will be available for pick up in Panorama Six82 or curbside to eliminate any risk of Coronavirus spread. The menu will only be available from December 17, 2022 to March 28, 2022; Fridays and Saturdays, and meal kits available strictly on Sundays. The meal kits will be from dishes off the menu, but in larger quantities of up to 6 persons. The meals will require a few minutes of prep and a few minutes in the oven or microwave.
Giving Back
And finally, the most important aspect of El Nido del Barrio. As you may know, food scarcity is increasing right now across the nation. So many families are struggling right now due to the Coronavirus. So, as “The Neighborhood Nest,” we want to give back to our neighborhood. We will be donating 02% of our total profits earned from El Nido del Barrio this season to the New Hampshire Food Bank. Give back to our neighborhood at “The Neighborhood Nest,” “El Nido del Barrio.”
