Looking to end the summer with an active adventure? Check out the Clutch Rescue Triathlon at Owl’s Nest, which will take place on September 15th. The Clutch Rescue Triathlon includes swim, bike, and run courses that truly offer a one-of-a-kind experience. It is an out-and-back race where athletes will retrieve stolen eggs from the top of Mount Tecumseh and return them back to Owl’s Nest.
Athletes participating will start with a 1000-yard swim that is surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes and spectators. Following the swim, athletes will head out on a challenging 14-mile bike, mainly uphill, to Waterville Valley. Then, athletes will switch to their trail running gear and race 4.9 miles to the top of Mount Tecumseh to grab their egg. Once retrieving, athletes will race back down to their bikes for another 14-mile ride, and finish with a 1-to-2-mile run. Each person’s time will stop once their egg is placed into the Owl’s Nest, and the egg and nest will also serve as the finisher medal! Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female triathlon finishers in each age group and top 3 relay teams.
The Clutch Rescue Triathlon will begin at 9:00am ET with swim waves featuring all male and female athletes. When registering, athletes can decide between registering for an age group or relay category. Because this is a USAT-sanctioned event, everyone participating must have either a valid USAT annual membership or will be required to purchase an adult 1-day USAT license. Fees can range from $425-$565 depending on whether you are registering as an individual or on a team. In addition to registering for the triathlon, athletes will also receive a shirt, water bottle wrapped in a cold hand towel at the finish, a swim cap, unique finisher medal, race photos, as well as food and drink at the finish line.
Once the triathlon finishes, the fun does not stop there! Owl’s Nest is inviting athletes and spectators to enjoy a pizza and salad buffet, as well as a bar service for those who choose to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly. Owl’s Nest also plans to have live music and festivities throughout the day for spectators during the event.
