Golf and wine lovers, listen up! Owl’s Nest has recently acquired White Mountain Country Club and is currently working on a complete renovation for its newly branded sister golf course, the Owl’s Nest Vineyard Course. The redesign began last summer and is undergoing a total course redesign through this winter, under the supervision of esteemed course designer, Robert McNeil, and the Northeast Golf Company.
There are few places anywhere in the Northeast that have such an extensive portfolio of offerings, and, once complete, the Owl’s Nest Vineyard Course will be a perfect addition into Owl’s Nest’s portfolio.
Owl’s Nest is the perfect place for a quick getaway, vacation with family and friends, or to call home! The resort offers everything from an 18-hole Nicklaus-designed golf course and 25 racquet sport courts to home and rental communities and an award-winning restaurant, Panorama Six82, plus so much more.
Now, Owl’s Nest is working hard on one of its newest additions, with the goal of making Owl’s Nest Vineyard Course one of the top 5 courses in New Hampshire.
The Vineyard Course redesign includes the construction of several holes, extensive tree management, bunker removal, new tee boxes, new hole layouts, improved irrigation, and re-grassing. Plus, more attention will be given to the meadow areas to create more open character. The full enhancement plan also includes the construction of 55 new bunkers, new tees, 2 new holes (4 and 9), and new cart paths. Great progress has been made, as the new 4th hole has been completed, with work phased with the front 9 to be completed in 2023 and the back 9 to finish in spring of 2024.
In addition to the course itself, the restaurant onsite will be expanded and improved, and more function space will occupy what is currently the practice green, which will be moved closer to the first tee.
The Vineyard Course is also in the process of receiving a face-lift in its pro shop, with construction continuing next door in the soon-to-be Pemi Burger Bar, which will feature creative burgers, sandwiches, and craft beers and cocktails for golfers and guests.
That is not all!
Owl’s Nest is thrilled to include a 10-acre grape vineyard that was planted on the Vineyard Course this past Fall, with hopes to become the 31st registered winery in the state of New Hampshire by 2025.
The winery will produce their own Pinot Noir and the state’s only locally produced sparkling wine and will make for the perfect place to sit back and relax while enjoying the beautiful weather and views that the White Mountains have to offer!
The newly branded Owl’s Nest Vineyard Course is scheduled to host a grand opening in the spring of 2025, and in the meantime the course will be open for play through the majority of the work. This course and all its offerings, including dining as well as venue space, will be available to members of the course as well as the general public.
