Owl’s Nest Resort is surrounded by some pretty photo-ready views, but we are also lucky to be located near some pretty spectacular local attractions. Here are 4 Instagram-worthy locations you should plan to visit:
1. Flume Gorge
Make your Insta followers jealous with photos from the spectacular Flume Gorge. Located at the Franconia Notch State Park and only a few minutes from Owl’s Nest Resort, you’ll experience a natural gorge made of towering 90-foot granite walls. While the trail involves uphill walking and steep stairs, it’s worth the climb when you witness the beautiful foliage and breathtaking views. It truly is a natural beauty.
2. Pemigewasset River
Or as the locals call it, “Pemi River,” this relaxing destination is one of our guests’ favorites. It’s just steps away from our rental homes and award-winning restaurant, so it’s a no brainer you’ll want to check it out when you stay with us. Bring your favorite floats as you cascade down the river or a beach chair to take in the scenic vista. You can even rent local kayaks for a more interactive Pemi River experience. Whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to snap a pic!
3. Falling Waters Trail
You don’t need to travel all the way to Niagara River to view picture-worthy waterfalls – NH is proud to have a few of their own. We recommend walking the Falling Waters Trail, a popular path that ends at the summit of Little Haystack Mountain. On your hike, you’ll encounter Stairs Falls, Swiftwater Falls, and the main attractions, Cloudland Falls, an 80-foot picturesque waterfall.
4. Kancamagus Highway
Up for a drive? If the weather isn’t cooperating or you’re just passing through, you should take a drive on the Kancamagus Highway. Trust us, this is no ordinary highway. It’s a 34.5-mile scenic drive through New Hampshire’s famous foliage. While it’s best viewed in the Fall when the leaves change color, it has amazing views of the White Mountains during any season. At an elevation of 3,000 feet, you’ll be able to see for miles.
There’s so much to see in New Hampshire and we hope you’re able to join us soon! Explore the beautiful landscape with friends and family or go on a romantic couple’s retreat. Just remember, pack your camera and tag us @owlsnestresort_golfclub or use the hashtag #owlsnestresort so we can see all the great places you’ve been.
Please note: During the outbreak of COVID-19 the NH State Parks have required visitors make reservations for certain attractions. Please visit their website to stay in the loop.
